This swervy-patterned textured scarf has plenty of horizontal movement, and so it works particularly well with variegated and semi-solid yarns.
Yarn: Takes approximately 200g of aran yarn: using multiple colours will show off the wavy pattern to best effect.
Needles: 5mm/6mm (depending on how loose/lacey you would like your scarf to be) straight knitting needles.
Start
Cast on 36 stitches. Knit 1 row, then continue in the Feather & Fan pattern repeat.
The Feather & Fan pattern repeat:
- Knit 1 row
- Purl 1 row
- [K2tog] 3 times, [YFK] 6 times, [K2tog] 3 times. Repeat once.
- Knit 1 row
Repeat these four pattern rows until the scarf is as long as you want it to be, ending with a row 1. Then Knit 1 more row, then cast off.
Ready to wear!
